Always follow safe practices when feeding your baby. Learn more here.
Starting May 1st, only Similac Advance, Sensitive, and Total Comfort will be available for standard formulas. Click here for more information.
Current formula options are listed below:
Similac for Spit-Up PWD is no longer produced by Abbott or issued by South Dakota WIC. If you were previously issued Similac for Spit-Up PWD on your SD WIC benefits and your Medical Documentation Form from your physician for Enfamil A.R. has been submitted to your local WIC office and approved, you can now purchase:
- Enfamil A.R. 12.9oz can
If your SD WIC benefits are for Similac Advance PWD you can purchase any of these powder formulas:

*Large formula sizes will count as 2 cans on the eWIC card. For example, purchasing 1 large 30.8oz can of Similac Pro-Advance will remove 2 cans from the card.
Talk with your WIC health professional to replace Similac Alimentum, Elecare, and NeoSure as these formula changes will require a WIC Medical Documentation Form from the infant’s doctor. Several options that were added throughout the formula shortage will be removed as of July 1st. Those that will continue to be available after July 1st are listed here. Please ensure you have Medical Documentation for a South Dakota WIC Approved Formula based on your or your child’s specific medical needs.
If you are having difficulty finding formula options for the Similac product on your eWIC Card, contact your local WIC office. =
